Evil Masquerade has recorded a cover version of the Lacrimosa track Revolution.

Initially you will be able to find it as a part of the Lacrimosa Anniversary Box, which is due for release this December. Within soon it will also be available as a digital release by Dark Minstrel Music that also includes a video for the track.

 Today I want to share with you our joy about our new project: At the end of the year we will release a hand-numbered box limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide, for which we have produced a lot of great content. Over the next days I will present each piece of this box. By the way, you have already seen a little something without knowing it, but more about that later…

Aber hier kommt nun einmal die erwähnte Kleinigkeit, von der ich geschrieben hatte: Vielleicht habt Ihr während des Streaming Konzertes das Lacrimosa Logo in Chrom auf meiner Gitarre bemerkt?! Dies ist ein Chrom-Aufkleber, der als kleinstes Teil in der Box zu finden sein wird, neben einigem Anderen, von dem ich Euch hier nach und nach schreiben werde.

At our 25th anniversary we played two concerts in Oberhausen and in Dresden that we recorded back then. And what better time could be there, in times without concerts with audiences, than to publish an anniversary concert with an audience for an anniversary?! And I can tell you, while mixing the album, it was so wunderful to hear your applause. Thank you again for that!

This is about a long-cherished heart project: 12 very special artists, including bands like LORD OF THE LOST, LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE, SEMBLANT, MONO INC, GLEIS 8 (feat. Manne Uhlig, Ex-LACRIMOSA and AnNa R., Ex-ROSENSTOLZ), and even JP GENKEL, YENZ LEONHARDT and HENRIK FLYMAN interpret their favorite Lacrimosa tracks in their very own way! A feast for the ears!
With the title “Cover Up” this CD is a real jewel in the anniversary box! By the way, in the next post you will find information on the box’s pre-sale.

Here comes another highlight of the box: The CD “Versions”. On the one hand, I dug deep into my archive for this, because the CD begins with piano recordings from Lacrimosa’s first weeks and months (at that time still on cassette recorder), continues with a rehearsal room and two live recordings from 1993, or an unplugged version of “Alles Lüge” on the occasion of an award ceremony in 1996, and on the other hand there is the piano interpretation of “Einsamkeit” from spring, the piano and string version of “Weil Du Hilfe brauchst” from the streaming concert, as well as a previously unreleased piano interpretation of “Schakal”!
All in all, 72 refreshing Lacrimosa minutes.
By the way, the cover is also a version, it’s a sketch by Stelio Diamantopoulos for the first version of the cover of the album… but you can read that in the booklet.

Happy Halloween – the moon is constantly circling!
Under different circumstances we would have released a new studio album a few days ago and would have set off these days to present the album live around the globe.
Well, as we all know, things are different. At least we were able to support friends and employees from the industry a little with the streaming concert in August.
And then, I already wrote that we are planning something. This, rounding off the anniversary year, will come out – if the production facilities are not closing again – still this year and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why this big hall for a streaming concert? Quite simply, the location must meet some requirements:
INTERNET: Only few halls have the infrastructure for Internet transmission in sufficient bandwidth.
AIRPORT: Crew and band members live across Europe. A location nearby an international airport saves travel and logistics costs.
DISTANCE RULES: We also need to follow them and therefor we need numerous and large rooms for all production employees instead of common oil sardine cans as backstages.
OPTICS: In order to provide real viewing pleasure on your screens, a large stage is required for many cameras shooting from different angles.
COSTS: Based on these and other requirements, negotiations started with various hall operators, whereby we were offered the best conditions here.

Because of the current situation, which we will not address in particular, you have of course many „burning“ questions regarding this year's WGT.
Due to complex considerations we have been reticent with statements until now, especially since the legal situation seems to be rather vague. We'd like to make sure that we are trying our best to keep the tradition of WGT taking place during Pentecost weekend alive. In fact we like to offer you a meeting with a cultural supporting programme this year. By following the link below you will find answers which we will update regularly, based on the current state of affairs.

• Will the WGT take place during Pentecost weekend 2020?
  
  At present time, that question cannot be reliably answered, for the factual and legal circumstances are still being too vague. In fact, we are still working on different options of an implementation of WGT at Pentecost weekend 2020, in whatever form.
• Is the WGT a „major event“ as officially defined by the authorities?
  
  The WGT can be regarded as a „major event“ solely to a limited extent. But, especially not as currently defined by a few German federal states. As is well-known, the WGT is a decentralised event. The numerous venues which all have a permanent concession to host events are spread across the entire city and offer different capacities. These facts being taken as a basis, a wide range of options are available for implementing the WGT in an alternative form, notwithstanding all adversities.
• Has there been any correspondence with the government of the city of Leipzig?
  
  Up to the present day, there has been no offer of discussion about a possible alternative implementation of the WGT and no written correspondence either– a somewhat strange way of dealing with a company that has been privately financed from the very beginning,which did not receive any kind of monetary support from the city and which, at the same time, as estimated by several market research institutions, has generated an amount inbetween 12 and 16 million Euros of revenue spent by visitors of WGT in hotels, restaurants, taxis etc. to the city of Leipzig every year. To date, we also did not receive any written prohibition order!
• Do owners of paid WGT tickets have legal security?
  
  Of course, in the event of a legally binding prohibition of the WGT at Pentecost, we guarantee that all paid WGT tickets will be valid for a forthcoming event. Should ticket owners not be able to attend WGT on Pentecost weekend due to reasons for which they can prove not to be responsible for, especially entry bans from foreign countries or cases of so-called quarantine, their tickets will remain valid for a subsequent event as well.
